Our Story
Nestled in the foothills of the magnificent Himalayas lies Dharamshala, a city enchanted by the Tibetan hum of "Om Mani Padme Hun." Here, Lt. Col Deepak Thapa and Ms. Nandini Thapa began their dream—creating properties that feel like home.
The Beginning
Built with love on Ms. Nandini's ancestral land, Nandini Villa was envisioned as a 'Home away from Home.' This passion grew into Nandini—a collection of unique properties offering unparalleled hospitality in the Himalayas.
After 21 years in the Indian Army, Lt. Col Deepak retired to fulfill his dream: a cozy mountain retreat with picturesque views, shared with his family—son Himanshu, daughter Himani, and their three Golden Retrievers (Poochie, Loco, and Kiki).
A Legacy of Valor
Yudh Seva Medal (Gallantry Award)
Lt. Col Deepak Thapa served in the Indian Infantry 2 DOGRA. During Operation MEGHDOOT in 1989, his battalion faced extreme conditions on the Siachen Glacier—1000 cm snowfall and -50°C temperatures. On April 30-31, 1989, they were ambushed on 'Dogra Hill.'
In a stunning display of courage, the battalion repulsed the attack on the world's highest battlefield. The site was renamed 'Thapa Base' in his honor. Lt. Deepak Thapa received the Yudh Seva Medal for his gallantry in these inhospitable conditions.
